In this article, we’re breaking down everything that you need to know about the new Marketability system in F1® Manager 2024. We’ll be covering how to utilise sponsorship funding and engagement for the best results on and off the track.

What is Marketability in F1® Manager 2024?

Every team on the track has an overall marketability value, which is impacted by several things:

  • Overall rating of your team
  • Facility status and upgrades
  • Driver marketability
    • This is the individual score of a driver based on how appealing they are to potential sponsors and the team’s fan base

Your team’s total marketability score will determine the quality of engagement activities available, and the amount of money sponsors are willing to give you.

Carefully Select Sponsorships

In your 1st season, it might be tempting to select any sponsorship just to boost your budget. However, if your team’s marketability value isn’t high enough, then you won’t be able to reach the mandatory goals required for Engagement Sponsorships. This will lose your team funding and lower your overall marketability score.

Early on the best strategy is to choose Upfront funding, unless you’re very confident in your team's ability to perform and secure Race Day funding. Before choosing Engagement plans, focus on simple ways to boost your marketability score, making it easier for you to hit your engagement goals and fulfil this type of sponsorship.

Invest in Facility Upgrades

A simple and easy way to increase your overall marketability score is by upgrading your HQ. Investments in facilities like a Memorabilia room or a Helipad as a brand new F1® team will show sponsors (and your competitors) that you’re on the grid to stay!

If you can afford to get these upgrades early, they will add a much-needed boost to your marketability score. The more high-quality sponsors you bring in, the more money you’ll have to spend on training and upgrades, which will also add a boost to your team rating and therefore marketability score.

Select Marketable Drivers

If you’re using Create A Team, choosing a driver with high marketability will boost your team’s overall score early in the season, potentially giving you an edge over your competitors. Some drivers, like Mick Schumacher, will have a higher score than others right out the gate, whereas others will need training and support to build it up. However, with the new Team Suitability score, you won’t be able to hire just any driver!

Driver marketability will impact the amount of engagement generated by their involvement in sponsor activities, as well as the quality and quantity of the sponsor packages available to your team.

While you want to ensure your drivers are performing on-track and not too distracted by sponsorship events, it could be the key to unlocking some early season funding that’ll improve the team performance later on.

The better the team performs during the race weekend, the better the team marketability score; it’s that simple!

A car that performs well is one that sponsors want to be associated with, so the further you move up the Constructors and Driver standings, the higher quality deals you’ll be offered.

Focus on car part development that’ll give you the edge over your competitors in the majority of GPs and help your team steadily rise up the leaderboard.

Driver Performance

Driver marketability fluctuates based on race performance, the sponsorship activities they’re involved in, worldwide fanbase, as well as their home country’s interest in F1® and their popularity in their home country.

Not every driver you’ll want to sign will have a high marketability score, but it can be steadily improved through training and support from your team overtime.

The better a driver performs based on their own, and the team's, expectations, the higher their marketability will rise. The reactive nature of Driver Marketability means drivers lower down the grid will get a much-needed boost while front runners will have to fight to maintain their top spot.
